Question

The answer for (c) is “the number of bubbles would increase”. Can anyone help on how to answer (d)? Thanks in advance!

Answer

The increase in the number of bubbles observed is due to the increased rate of photosynthesis by the water plant. As the lamp is moved nearer to the water plant, the increased exposure to light allows the plant to trap more light energy for photosynthesis. As a result of the increased rate of photosynthesis, more oxygen is produced, leading to the formation of the observed bubbles.

Change the carbon dioxide to oxygen in the answer then it would be right.
