Mary has a sum of money to buy some pears.If she buys 6 pears,she will have $1 left.if she buys 8 pears,she will be short of $1.40.

What is the cost of 1 pear?

I am unsure how to solve it..Can someone help me solve it?Thank you

Your method is correct, but you have used 1.80 instead of 1.40.

So, correct answer will be:

2units => 1+1.40 => $2.40

1u => $1.20
