how is my chance to get in st hilda?
Hi,
I’m a foreigner and my son will study in singapore under dependent pass for 2012 but we plan to change the PR once it is approved. He will be in K2 next year.
Until now, I haven’t registered to any kindergarten since still waiting for the pass. However, I plan to registered my son to st hilda primary on 2013 so planning to rent hdb within 1 km to the school.
For that condition, how is my son’s change to get in the school? can the probability increase if i registered my son to st hilda kindergarten? anyone can advise?
Thanks
@ littletotscorner
Are you from St Hildas Primary or Secondary? because from what I understand Secondary is not affiliated to the primary 🙁
Advise needed - son going to primary one next year
Dear Parents,
can anyone give some advice? I intend to place my son in St Hildas primary next year. I’m considered a former student from St Hildas although it was only for a short while. What are my chances of my son getting a place in the school? I stay in Pasir Ris by the way.
Cheers and thanks!!!
@cesca1211
Welcome to KSP.
If you are a PV and completed the hours required, then you will qualify for phase 2B. Else, phase 2C.
Looking at the balloting history of St Hilda’s (http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/tampines), you will need to be a PV, PLUS living within 1km to have a better chance of getting a place.
For phase 2C, there had been balloting for the past few years for those living within 1km. Chances are about 1 in 3…quite a slim chance.
So if you are not successful in applying for PV, then best to consider another school.
BTW, PV application for 2007 children should be opened now.
Hi, Am new here and it will
Hi,
Am new here and it will be my 1st time registrating for Pr 1 for my little gal which will be entering P1 in 2014. Am currently staying more than 2km away form St Hilda’s. Am intending to move within 1km to the school by next year. Will being a PV have a better chance to get into the school? Which phase will I be in if I do PV or without PV? Any mummies been in the same situation and care to share?
No chance, don't even
No chance, don’t even bother to do PV. If you understand the allocation method, you better spend time doing PV for a nearer school. Anyway, most PV schemes already closed application.
Need some advice
I am staying within just less of 2km from St Hilda’s. What do you think of my daughter’s chances in getting a place there.
just asking
Hi,
i just would like to find out, will priority will be given to those live within the 1km distant themselves compared to those who put their kid under the care of their parents who lives within the 1km from the school. And during the balloting under phase 2C is there a quota for the different race group.
Please advise the school for my son who will be P1 in 2011
I stay in Simei street 1 and now it’s too late to do PV in St Hilda and Poi Ching. Any one who can suggest which school should I register for my son?
Thanks!
very very popular. if you
very very popular. if you want to do pv, better stay within 1km. otherwise might be in risk of balloting. Luckily I just did 5 hours pv, then transfer to do pv for other school, else all my effort will be wasted.
Stress over Primary Sch
I planning to get my parents to look after my kid when he’s going to primary sch.however they are staying in Tampines St 45. Anyone to advise which primary school gd to recommend?Wanted to try St hilda’s or Poi Ching but I think not within 1-2 km.So sad…
Hi Agnes, My daughter
Hi Agnes,
My daughter will be registering only next year, I am just monitering the situation. I did not register for any PV at St Hilda’s., should have done, did mot realise that we are less then 1 Km. Its too late to register, send an e/mail to the sch, but they are not keen.
Congrats on getting your confirmation from Poi Ching. All the best
Bel
;
Hi Bel, So you registered
Hi Bel,
So you registered under Phase 2C for St Hilda’s. When is balloting happening? Next week?
I registered myself for PV early this year (at St Hilda’s) and was rejected flatly after good 10 months of wait 🙁 Appealed but still get rejected. And they refused to tell me the reason why. Maybe becos I am working, or not an Anglican member. Anyway, that is history now. I have received the confirmation letter from Poi Ching already. Looking forward to the orientation.
Agnes.
