The mission of Cherrybrook is to help parents

• form their children to become mature, virtuous, competent, eager to serve others and, be able to act with a great sense of freedom and responsibility and;
• develop their competency as primary educators by offering Continuing Education Programs.

We believe that in order to reach the highest potential of our existence, we need to develop the whole person ie. we are concerned with achieving the harmonious development and ordering of the mind, will, heart and body of every child at Cherrybrook. Character education is a key component of our curriculum because the acquisition of virtues enables a person to develop an upright and integral personality.  

Our second foundational belief is that parents are the primary educators of their children and the home is the child’s first and most important school. Therefore, we believe that parents have the right and responsibility to direct the education of their children, and that they should be the dominant influence in their upbringing. We believe that parents need to undertake the upbringing of their children with total self-giving so that their children are given the very best opportunities to realize their full potential.

The kindergarten curriculum at Cherrybrook strives to lay a foundation for a joy in learning and future academic success. The curriculum is designed to provide a balance between structured teaching and play. Play is important at Cherrybrook. Research shows there is a direct relationship between the ability to pretend and academic success. Play helps children to symbolize and visualize. Children learn about “academic subjects” like language, math and science through play.

Reading readiness for English and Mandarin, early mathematics, life sciences, practical life skills, music, art, creative activities and a varied athletics program are the core teaching units in Cherrybrook.

It also features a strong character education programme where the children learn simple rules of good behavior and are encouraged to develop good habits. At Cherrybrook, we believe that good habits formed at a young age make all the difference. They provide the foundation for academic and personal success and a joyous life.
