Chinese Kindergarten was the first kindergarten set up in 1921 with the enrolment increasing steadily. A Chinese primary school was established to cater to the graduands of the Kindergarten. Then 2nd World War disrupted the education scene throughout the country. On 10 October 1945, classes resumed at Chinese Kindergarten. However, in 1991, the Kindergarten at Tras Street had to close her doors due to land acquisition by the government. All the pupils and staff were transferred to Outram Road, Jubilee Church.
Our Vision
We see each child as a unique individual who will be loved and nurtured in a vibrant kindergarten where he/she grows in wisdom, stature and favour with God and men.
Our Misson
Chinese Kindergarten will:
1) provide a caring and fun-filled environment where learning is conducted and supported in ways that value the child as a whole person
2) Impart adequate knowledge and develop appropriate learning skills to help each child prepare for successful life-long learning
3) Guide each child in the development of good moral character and ethical behaviour through moral and Christian devotion
4) Encourage positive social skills and interactions among the children.
In line with the guideline from the Ministry of Education, our curriculum is designed to allow young children to be active learners and creative thinkers who will have good grasp in both languages, English and Mandarin. This is done through integrated thematic approaches, learning corners and projects.
