Great Beginnings Montessori Pre-school

Great Beginnings is a newly opened, MOE-registered kindergarten that is offering the Montessori approach to teaching in its unadulterated form, adhering fully to the philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.

The school is operated by AMI-qualified Directresses who trained in London at the renowned Maria Montessori Training Organisation (now known as the Maria Montessori Institute), the international training centre in Britain of the Association Montessori International (AMI). The AMI was founded in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori to maintain the integrity of her life’s work, and to ensure that it would be perpetuated after her death.

Great Beginnings was set up based on the premise that the Montessori method, in its true and pure form, will have an everlasting and powerful impact on the child’s life. It has endured through the years because it draws its principles from the natural development of the child. We believe that this method of education is timeless – it encourages the children to teach themselves through self discovery.

Here at Great Beginnings, we provide an environment that is stimulating, safe and secure, where every child’s needs are respected and met. It responds to the child’s innate love for learning and for work by leaving him free to explore and manipulate materials which correspond to his inner needs. In this loving and nurturing environment, we hope to challenge the children so that they may develop and fully realise their powerful latent potential.
