Little Oaks Montessori Kindergarten

Little Oaks Montessori Playgroup follows and holds values in common with other Montessori schools around the world. With international standards of teacher training, equipment and environment, we exclusively adhere to the Montessori philosophy of child education. In a Montessori environment, the child is in control of his or her activity. Children can choose who they wish to associate with, what they wish to do and when they wish to do each activity (the latter with some direction to enable some group activities). Each child is given the opportunity to explore and the freedom to make individual choices on a daily basis, thus encouraging independence and confidence.

The Directress and other assistants, direct rather than teach. The environment presents a wide variety of opportunities to learn, the child decides what he or she is interested in and the Directress directs the child through the learning process.

While a great deal of unstructured work occurs during the sessions, some degree of order and structure is necessary. In this way our sessions are organized. In addition, we also have a rotation of special activities through the week. Our curriculum incorporates Music and Movement, Cookery, Show and Tell and interesting Theme Topics.

All equipment And books are imported and of the very highest standards. Our Playgroup Centre has a special program for toddlers aged from 24 months. Special care has been taken to ensure an optimum environment for their developmental needs. He or she will then move on to the Montessori program at approximately 2 1/2 year’s of age.At four years of age you may choose to place your child in our kindergarten which offers a full preschool program for children aged 4 to 6 years of age.

5. Cultural Studies (Biology, Botany, Geography, History and Science)

7. Art and Craft centre
8. Play Area
