TLS Tutorials – Personalised Mathematics & Science Tuition

TLS Tutorials provides personalised Mathematics and Science tuition for primary and secondary students in Singapore. Our programmes are designed for students who learn best in small, focused groups and benefit from clear explanations, structured guidance, and consistent academic practice.

We believe that effective learning starts with understanding how each student thinks and processes information. Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach, our educators take time to identify each student’s learning gaps, misconceptions, and strengths. This allows us to guide students towards stronger understanding, clearer reasoning, and greater confidence over time.

Our programme is suitable for students who:

Our approach may not be suitable for students who rely on last-minute cramming close to examination periods. At TLS Tutorials, we emphasise steady, consistent work to build strong foundations and long-term exam readiness. Lessons are tutor-led and interactive, not passive or mass “stand-up” teaching.
 

Our Teaching Approach

Student learning at TLS follows a structured process:

We begin with diagnostic assessments to accurately identify learning gaps and strengths. Using these insights, our educators design a personalised academic plan aligned with the school syllabus and assessment timeline.

Lessons focus on helping students process and apply concepts independently. In Mathematics, students are guided to interpret word problems accurately, select appropriate methods, and present clear working to secure method marks. In Science, students are trained to analyse question context and explain answers clearly using structured frameworks such as AEC (Answer–Evidence–Conclude).

Across both subjects, we place strong emphasis on:

• Accurate interpretation of questions
• Application to unfamiliar and higher-order problems
• Clear communication of reasoning
• Time and energy management under exam conditions
   

Lesson Structure

• Class size: 1–4 students per lesson
• Duration: 2 hours per lesson
• Format: In-person, small-group classes

Small class sizes allow educators to observe each student closely, address misconceptions promptly, and provide targeted guidance during lessons.

Trial Lessons

Trial lessons are complimentary and follow the full 2-hour lesson format, with an added diagnostic component. This allows students and parents to assess learning fit, teaching style, and lesson structure before committing.
