What is the meaning of DS, DD, and other acronyms?

KiasuParents.com members like to use acronyms to shorten their writing. Certain commonly used words such as "son" and "daughter" often get replaced with terms like "DS" and "DD", which means "Dear Son" or "Dear Daughter".
